What is it and how good is it?
I've always liked the idea of carrying a spare wheel!

The inflation kit is a formula which you squirt into the tyre and it is meant to seal a puncture. You then have a compressor to blow your tyre back upand it is then meant to get you home. My dad has one in his car and he had a puncture a few weeks ago and he used it and it did not work. It is in my opinion, and my dadsa stupid idea and no replacement for a spare wheel as ithas no guaranteed it willwork. My dads did not. My dad went over a screw and the formula started coming out the hole asif the hole is too big it will not work, this left him stranded and very pi**ed off he nowWILL not bother with it and just will phone breakdown next time as he has a new galaxy and there is nowhere for a spare wheelto be put.
I JUST BOUGHT A SPACE SAVER OFF EBAY FOR £27 INCLUDING POSTAGE AND A JACK FOR A FIVER FROM LOCAL SCRAP YARD . GOT TO BE BETTER THAN USING THAT STUPID CAN AND HAVING TO BUY A NEW TYRE IF ITS ONLY A STRAIGHT FORWARD PUNCTURE
Cheaper than buying one from Ford!!!

Being the idiot I am I got them to supply one when I bought my 6 month old ex demonstrator.

Wheel & tyre........£150!

Jack & Wheelbrace.........another £60!!!!!

Both of which are a "No Cost Option" if you buy a new C-Max!
I ordered a C-Max in January this year and the very next day after ordering I asked the Dealer for the no-cost spare wheel option. When the car was delivered on the 1st March, there was only the standard fit inflation kit. So I had to pay £150 for what I was expecting for free. I was told the order had been sent to Ford and could not be altered (or did the Salesman forget to process it?)

I have an inflation kit if anyone would like it.
Hi just picked up my new c-max on friday I have the inflation kit did not even know a spare was a no cost option

A bit peeved to say the least
i picked up my brand new c max , two and a bit months ago. Like you Guys i wasnt informed about the spare wheel issue and not until you examine the small print that it is a no cost option, BUT at the time the dealers do not point this out and i asumed stupidly paying all these thousands of pounds that , a steel spare wheel with tyre, would be in the usual sPACE , SILLY ME !
