Hi All
Ive found when looking into it that a lot of problems with EGR Valves are due to low Speed around town driving.
Low revs and labouring of the engine result in sooting up of the crank case ventilation and the EGR Valve.
Though im not aware of a cure for this.
Though regular servicing and regular high speed runs and a bit of overrun helps.
Although on the positive side some enginesexperirence far worse,these problems can cause expensive turbo failure or total engine destruction, as is the case with renault dci engines due to failiure of the oil delivery to the turbo, resulting in a run away engine and total faliure.
So all is not bad EGR=150 Turbo=1000+
