its a bit of a long story , so , here we go , i have a 10 month old mk4 mondeo 2.0 litre petrol , lovely car in all respects apart from niggle after niggle after niggle !!! , mainly electrical gremlins but also fuel consumption average of 28 mpg

, anyway , as it is a motability car i complained to them and they have agreed to let me change it , so i am going for a 1.8 tdci titanium c max and pick it up next friday , i test drove a 1.6 tdci and found it ok for power but not quite enough oooommmppphhh if you see what i mean , it was going to be a 3 - 4 month wait for a 2 litre so i said would have a 1.8 , have i made a boob or not

, dont get me wrong the car felt fine to drive , just not sure about the engine choice

I have a 1.8 petrol and think thats okay. I think a 1.8 tdci will be fine.

av got a poverty model 1600 c max, goes well enough for me and sufficient torque, love the car

I have the 2.0 tdci which is great for power output, good economy on a long run anyway, I have driven the 1.8 tdci and found it to be well acceptable, its just the right deal came up on the 2.0.
Previously I had the focus hatch with the 1.8 tdci, I beleive the C Max has the same engine which has excellent refinement far more than the 2.0 tdci. I would have no hesitation buying the 1.8 tdci.
