Just wondered if anyone had or attempted to change the standard aerial for the shark fin equivalant? not that theres anything wrong with the one I,ve got but if i'm not tinkering with something the wife says i'm in the way.

my original aerial was stolen and I've replaced it with an aftermarket one (looks like this : http://www.motorspeed.com/sitepix/products/mids/mid_scotland_antenna.jpg). the radio reception is good enough.
what aerial are you refering as "shark fin equivalant" ?

I changed mine for one as my aerial kept hitting my garage door when I drove in and out of it. I get ok reception.

SORRY GUYS. I miss understood the questionI dont have a shark fin aerial I have sabre aerial. I now know what you mean sorry for telling fibs

A 'shark fin' aerial is shaped like the fin of a shark, (think of jaws when its about to attack), its the fin above the water shape thingy?? the newer BMW 5 series have them, there are dozens on ebay for about £15, think I might just get one and give it go sometime soon, will post pics if it turns out to be any good
