Probably been discussed in the past, but what is the definitive solution for the problem with selecting reverse gear? (1.8 petrol Zetec 2005)
Reverse is not very positive when selected & slips out of gear on many an occasion. Is it a case of adjustment? Or is it a fault that Ford are ''presumably' aware of?

I suspect the first port of call is to make certain the cable gear selector linkage is adjusted correctly and there is no excessive play in any of the joints

Ther is a section on the cables on the TIS disc which although only really for upto 2004 should give a start
