I finally managed to get the radio/cd out of the dash (no thanks to the local helpfull Ford garage) in preperation for spraying the central fascia surround which was badly scratched when i bought the car. A tin of alloy spray from Halfords and what a difference. I made sure that it had a couple of coats of primer, rubbed down between each coat and three layers of paint. It looks really proffessional (even though i say so myself), that good in fact that i took the two side air vents out and sprayed their surrounds as well.

they have dash kits for radio/air vent surround & also gear stick surround.They do them in carbon effect,aliminiumn effect & wood effect.I think dash kit is £60 & gear set £30.Anyway well done on the paint job.I hads some scratches on my gear surround,but managed to get them off with lots of tlc.
