Hi I am the new owner of a C-Max 1.8 TDCI 07 plate with just under 9000 miles on the clock. Great ride but am disappointed with the fuel consumption. Have just gone on an 80 mile round trip travelling at between 40 and 60 mph and have averaged 42 mpg. These figures do not correspond to manufacturers figures. Has anyone else managed to get thestated milage in the brochure?

Hi and welcome!

I think you'll find it hard to get anywhere near the quoted MPG on any car by the way car makers obtain the figures.
Still, 42 MPG is very good.

Thanks for the welcome. I have had two fords previously and have been really pleased with the performance and reliability. I suppose I have been spoilt as I had a mondeo estate 2 litre TDCI which regularly averaged 42mpg no matterhow you drove it andwould stretch to 46 - 48 mpg on a long run.The first ford being thefocus estate which was a real eye catcher when it was first launched.

Greetings,I doubt anyone can get the same as official figures as they are tested in controlled circumstances (ie,you have no chance).$2 is exellent though.If you want to help it along a bit,try adding a measure of Millers every time you fill up & you could also change the air filter for a K & N long life.With these & some care in driving you should get up to around 45.
