For the second time I appear to be getting water into the boot, dripping in through the grille just by the power point on the right hand side. I have heard that this can be from the hinge points above. Anyone else had this?
I also get condensation in the rear lights on occasion.

Hello first post here although been keeping an eye on the forums since got my 06 2.0 tdci ghia in october.
I know its been a while since this thread was posted but was wondering if you found the cause as i have seemd also to gain a leek in the exact same area
. rang ford dealer but said the warranty only covers water ingress for 12 months from registration.

thanks for any help

Mine was from the rear hatch seal, removed completely and used caravan mastick in the seal before replacing it, water was tracking in under seal and running down same place as yours, sorted now.

I had a visit to the local ford dealer on friday (where i bought the car from in october !!).
after passing a jet wash over it they told me they couldn't see it leeking however could see that the leek was probably water ingress from around the area of the top hinge/ roof rail weld, this is then lleking down between the panels and out by the plastic pillar support which holds the rear seat belts and then down the plastic grill by the cig socket, they then also said that water leeks were not covered after 12 months of registration, but after a bit of gentle persuasion/anger and me stating that spare wheel area was soaking and that the jack had started to go rusty and this could not of possibly happened in 3 months, they have now agreed to fix it in house and send it to the body shop for repair.
.
its going in on the 23rd on feb so we will see then where the true problem is.

Had this problem on a 2005 TDCI. Eventually found to be unsealed area around tailgate hinges. The whole roof area drains down towards the hinge area and amazingly got sucked through the unsealed upper area where double skin and single skin meet.

Well the car went in to be sorted......3 days later after a stay in the body shop it came back....and now we have rain, and what was a small slow leak has now turned into 3 large and fast leaks
well done that really is amazing, they have manged to make it alot worse rather than fix the problem, so it looks like I will be without the car for another week, and be given the new lime green fiesta complete with all sign writing

Mines currently in for investigation about the 'electronic parking brake' but I have a courtesy car as well.......

My courtesy car is a re-modelled Mk6Fiesta 1.25 Style in PURPLE - very masculine... NOT.
Luckily it has NO advertising for the garage so thats always a plus...

A bit of a come down from my 2.0 Ghia.

Definitely let us know how you get on with the leak at the dealers!

I picked my C-Max up 2 days ago and after reading some of the posts on this forum Ichecked the spare wheel well and unfortunately there's a pool of water in there about 1/4 inch deep!

I haven't seen any water anywhere else at the moment but it hasn't rained since I picked it up. I've dryed out the water and will keep an eye on it to see if it re-appears.

What I did noticethough is that there are 2 black plugs in the wheel well that don't have holes in- I'm sure on others cars I've had they've all had 1 or 2 small drainage holes at the base of the wheel well.
I know that doesn't fix the leak but if there are no holes then couldn't condensation possibly build up over time on the metal work causing a pool which might make some owners such as myself believe there is a leak when there's not??

Out of curiousity hasanyones leak causedtheir carpet in the boot to getwet - as mines not?Edited by: SeaMax
