I wonder if someone can help. I'm getting an '05 C-max Zetec next week am getting the isofix brackets put in.
Has anyone else had this done? Specifically, have they had anchor points fitted to the boot floor for the 'top tether'? What do these anchors look like. I need to make sure the garage has done the job correctly. (The car seat we've got needs to be attached at the bottom and at the top)

I had a look, and under the mat in the boot there are a couple of bars that you 'could' attach a hook to, but i'm not sure if these are said anchors.

Quick update - the anchors are under the mat in the boot. Little welded bar.

Those welded bars are I think really for securing loads in the "boot" space
They held down all the glass from a greenhouse recently in mine with the help of a ratchet strap and a couple of "Bow Shackles"

Did you get anywhere with this? Did they fit the ISOFIX for you? I have been told it can not be added and am desparate to get isofix in my car - bought it with a view to being family car when I found out i was expecting - now found out is doesnlt have isofix! Due in a fortnight and need it sorting - any news on how you got on would be appreciated!!

Hi Sarah,
In my '05 Zetec they (local ford franchise) successfully fitted isofix brackets to both outside rear seats without too much trouble. The c-max comes with "provision" for isofix, which means a bracket has to be fitted to allow the babies seat to anchor in.
The parts only cost £15 per side, but they did need to cut the rear seats. This isn't a problem because the isofix points have a "guide" bit of plastic that completly hides the cuts. Our forward facing isofix seat (6 months old+) has got to use a top tether, which anchors in the boot (anchors under the boot carpet). A rear facing seat might need a footwell leg to stop the seat "rotating".
If I knew how to post photos I could show how they did it.

So:
You CAN get the anchors fitted, and it shouldn't cost too much

Remember that you can probably anchor the seat with a seatbelt if

Thanks so much for prompt reply!!! Mak1 has also replied on other isofix thread with photos so have emailed them to the manager at my dealership! I love my cmax so would prefer to get it fitted with isofix than change the car (especially at this late stage!)

I must be their customer from hell cos I alwaysdo my homework before I go to them for anything - they are usually brilliant but it doesn't help this week that their service manager is off!

No probs - glad to help. The information about isofix points for the c-max from (some) dealers and especially from the Ford website is pretty woeful. I had the same panic - I found the perfect c-max, good price right spec, low miles, but thought that I couldn't buy it cos of the isofix issue. I was very sulky. All good in the end though.
Also currently loving the c-max. Especially all the cubby holes!

it seems mad that what is sold as a family car and Ford being so keen on safety and families that this is not supplied as standard and that the dealerships know naff all about it! Ford UK don't seem much help either! Think the dealer is sick of me but this is my baby's safety we are dealing with not a pretty optional extra! We boght it thinking it would be perfect as family car and got an amazing deal on it (got it for far less than it was worth cos the dealer is great with us and he was desparate for a sale). They actually stood a loss on the deal I found out yesterday!
Just got a few points to iron out with the service manager who is worried about some legal issue with disclaimers or something n then hopefully can get it booked in and sorted - hope they are competent enough at fitting it if they have never done it before!!!

SOrry to bother you again - still having probs with my delarer sorting this out and time is certainly of the essence!

Could you tell me the name of the Ford Dealer you went to (and location) and if poss do you have a contact name there? I am going to try another dealer and see if they will just phone your dealer and also abother I know has done it in Ipswich and get this sorted.

Failing that I will phone your dealer and ask for their help!!!
