IPod/MP3

Sorry Guys if i'm in wrong place but I read on here something about an adapter to fir the 6000CD which fits in the back of the unit enabling an Ipod/MP3 player to be used throught the car speakers.

I thought I read that Ford do an adapter and so to do Connect2. I also bought the bits to hard wire a 3.5mm jack but discovered that because I have CDDJ button and not anAUX, I can't go this route.

I have searched on here but can't find the info.  Can anyone advise me as to which adapter I need for an 05 2,00ltr GHIA TDci that I can plug into the back of the CD unit via the CDDJ button that will enable an IPOD to be attached?

Thanks
Margaret

Like me, I have a CDDJ button and that means a no no for a aux input for a ipod/mp3 player.
Two routes for you, 1: FM transmitter that plugs into the Ipod/MP3 player and use the radio to pick up the signal or 2: get yourself a new head unit that plays MP3. Parts to make this happen are available from ebay for under £20.

LAWE -My local car audio specialist said that he could fit an adapter through the CDDJ button.  When he showed me the part I noticed it was a Connect2 adapter with an ipod lead which would fit from the back of the HU to the glovebox.  As he wanted to charge me £150 to do this I decided that as my HU has been released by my local garage then I could plug this part in and fit it myself.  However I didn't have  time to check part no.  I've checked the website Richard referred to and the part mentioned says it does not fit the CDDJ button. Guess I'll have to ring them after the weekend.

Thanks again and as usual this is an excellent site.

No probs. I was looking to do the same thing but when I found out about the CDDJ, well back to square one!
Unless I can pick up a CD6000 MP3 head unit, then I will be putting a "normal" HD in and go from there.
PS £150
Thank god you did not pay that!

Just looked at the Harmon Kardon drive and play on ebay think i`ll go for that it has a wired fm modulator and is only 30 quid. I can then leave the ipod in the glove box and use the screen and controller.
Went into local Ford Stealers today and picked up a lead with 3.5mm aux socket on it.  The guy who served me said he was confident that it would fit into the back of my HU and I could then plug in my Ipod.

I have just come in from the car and I can't get this  setup to work
.  Can someone on here confirm that I am doing the right thing please?  Am I right that I have to remove the white plug already attached to the car's wiring loom and replace it with the white end of the lead I bought today?  In theory then after doing this and connecting the other bits and my Ipod,  I should hear MP3s through the car speakers when I press the CDDJ button! So why is it not working.  The CD player and radio still work with this lead attached.

The part no. for this lead is 1426121 which someone mentioned on here and was why I went to Ford to ask about it.

Thanks
Margaret

The part you have does work, but ONLY with headunits that have a AUX button and not like ours, being a CDDJ button.
The CDDJ button works only with cd changer (noted in the manual).
I have had a good trawl around the net and we are all in the same boat.
