As Grace Jones once said - pull up to mybumper baby...then smash into it you daft numpty...

Anyone know if it's possible to separate the painted bumber section from the matt grey plasticsection - am thinking of doing a DIY replacement. I'm assuming that these bits are separate but are clipped together somehow. Can anyone confirm?

Haven't worked out how to remove the bumper yet, but there appear to be screws in the wheel arches.

Any advice welcome!

Mate,

Most likely screwed on around the wheel arches and clipped on everywhere else. I imagine the actually removal of the bumper to be faily simple if done methodically.

Going but this, it should be fairly easy to remove and looking at the picture on here it does look like you can take bits apart.... as this doesn't look like you get the fog light surrounds or the plastic air scoops.....

It's been a while since I posted that query!

As it happens, I got a couple of quotes and didn't go ahead with the repair - haddecided to live with the scuffs to the bumper. My car isn't getting any younger (just like it's owner) and with a few days grime on it the damage is hardly visible. If you look closely you can see that there is a slightly larger than normal gap between the bonnet front and the top of the bumper.

I know what you mean about leaving scuffs a scrapes as the wife ran her bumper along a wall.... thankfully the bumpers are plastic so it doesn't matter

Gonna get it sorted though using a "smart repair" company like ChipsAway.
