Here's a talking point for ya.

I recorded an episode of Topgear from Dave on freeview channel 19.

Its the one where May and Hamond become taxi drivers for the night so that they can test drive the renault Scenic agaist the Focus Cmax.

Anyway the Focus Cmax that they had was a.......

Silver 1.6tdci five speed on a 53plate and it was a Zetec model. I know it was a Zetec model because of the badge on the rear and because the cloth trim is the same as my Zetec.

Now the extras that were fitted in this car besides the usual was....
Heated seats, cruise control, the convexed rear mirror, uprated stereo (that one with the perspex front) centre glove box and an electric parking brake which i thought onlycame on the ghia spec car.

Why has this car got all these extras?

Is it because Ford new Topgear would be using it for a test feature?

Hmmmm......

Yeah as i said in an earlier thread, i'm missing my heated screen but my Cmax is also a used and so it didn't come with one.

The convexed mirror? Sorry Richard that was me coming up with a name for something.

I've just looked for it in a 2005 Cmax brochure that i've got and they call it 'the child observation mirror' in the overhead console.

When Ford introduce a new model (like the C-Max on 53 plate) they tend to build the first few launch vehicles with some optional extras. These first cars are always the ones which the press use for their First tests etc... and quite often it is before the standard specification has been finalised.
