I'm pretty sure there must be a timer in the car that works out when the warranty has expired before instructing the car to self-destruct...
Firstly the passenger front door handle stopped working - meaning the door could only be opened from the inside. Turns out that a steel pin mysteriously disappeared from the mechanism rendering it useless (now replaced with a suitably large nail
).

Now the gearstick just went all floppy (ohh missus) leaving the car stuck in neutral but luckily it turned out to be a disconnected ball-joint linkage right at the gearstick (visible when the black rubber trim is removed) I managed to press it back together while waiting for the recovery truck to arrive, phew..

What's next!?

I've remembered another one - during the 1 hot summer's day per year that we are allowed to have in Scotland I found that the aircon unit had packed in. I'm told that theyare more likely to pack in if not used frequently. Oh well, it doesn't seem like thatgreat a loss...Edited by: standard dude
