Has any one had any problems with diesel fuel collecting in the area round the injectors.
Ihave just experienced this and while there is a very obvious smell of diesel coming ino the car, and a very visible amount of fuel lying around one of the injectors I cannot find any fuel connections loose.
The injector pipe unions are all tight so I was wondering if there might be a problem withe the rubber return pipe, but visually it looks OK
any ideas???????

Hi & welcome.Sounds like the needle at the tip of the injector is damaged. The only solution is to get a new one.Have you got a deisel fuel injector specialist near you? They might be able to pin point the problem better than me.Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions, now sorted, it was in fact the small steelfitting that the injector pipe from the pump fastens to,
this had somehow unscrewed from the main injector and allowed the fuel to spurt out backwards from the base of the fitting where it screws into the main injector only took 5 mins to retighten provided you have a set of cranked spanners, to get to the fitting without having to remove a lot of stuff from the top of the engine.
