When I was waiting for my new C-max to be sorted
they borrrowed me a 07 C-Max for 2 weeks, I seemed to be getting about 49 mph round town and a weekly run on the motorway (77miles round trip)and thought this was great

Nowwith my new C-max 08I have put in £33.00 diesel (half a tank) a £128.9 Litre and get about 190 mileswhich I think works out at35 MPG round town and again one aweekon the motoway to the hospital thats around 77 mile round trip any idea whyI get so much less on the newer C-max per MPG

also on the older C-max I can leave the doors unlocked and fter 10 mins it would lock it self
my new one does not do this

They are both C-max zetac TDCI 1.8not usre if the 07 has a different engine
Thanks for any advice

Hey Timbo,
The car should re-lock itself after a short period of time - providing once unlocked, the doors have not been opened. This is for when the kids press the button and unwittingly unlock the doors from the living room. It should do it on your new one, if not, get your dealer to check it out. Remember, leave the doors closed.

The fuel consumption thing--- The only thing I can suggest is that the engine is loosening up. I've done about 2000 miles in my 1.6 110 tdci and am now creeping up the 40's (MPG, not age!!!) instead of the mid 30's like when I first got it. Oh, and it's getting a bit quicker too!!!
