Looking at getting a C-max.The one i am intertested in has an "AUX" in on the console between the front seats. The "dealer has no idea"

If i want to connect my ipod to this input should I:

1) Simply connect via 3.5mm to3.55 headphone type of cable or:

2) A cable with an IPOD connector at one end and a 3.5mm (for the AUX) at the other end

My other question is will the controls on the steering wheel control the ipod (ie next track etc).If not is there a way to do this. (i am not very hands on so it would be useful to know what the cost of a specialist should be to do this)

If helps the radio in the car is the "standard" one with a Zetec (i think it had 6000 as a model no?)

Either cable should do.....as long as it's ouputting audio at the end.

It won't control the Ipod. There are devices you can get that will but they are only for the CDDJ radios and I have no experience of. The other option is to upgrade to an aftermarket headunit which will support it.

scfisher, av just bought the harmon kardon drive n play system, it enables you to plug in the aux lead and play you i pod through your cd 6000 system and Control it via a seperate screen and easy mount cobtrol wheel , same as i pod ! Cracking system and a doddle to fit , paid £47 through car audio and security . Honestly it is a great and safe system , best on market in my opinion, theres companies selling exactly same unit for £150 plus p & p
