hi the question i am asking is if you have 2ltre diesel 57 reg what co2 reading have you got in your vechile reg doc if its not 149 co2 but 154 co2 you will be paying £25 more because the co2 reading by ford is 149co2 bring you in to the lower band ?
I have a 53 plate 2.0 diesel & the reg doc says 148.I have just checked another site & an 09 2.0 dieselwith 135bhp is 149co2.I think somone somewhere has got yours badly wrong but I don`t know what to suggest to help.
My 2004 C-Max is £125 tax pa, indicating it's less than 150 g/km. I expect the facelift added a bit of weight or an update to gear ratios or engine management that pushed it up a bit. I expect when the implications of this were realised for car tax, a frantic email was sent from Ford UK to the factory to tweak things again, and the car was presumably re-certified - even a change of tyres might have made a tangible difference.
Off-topic, I'm hoping the new C-max (due next year now I think) will be significantly lower - to be honest the regulatory stick may mean it has to. I recall seeing on the internet (so is therefore 100% true!) of the 1.6TDCi going up to 128bhp, which, if it gets a 6spd box and the car loses a bit of weight might make it the engine of choice for anyone concerned about either their wallet or the poor state of the planet.
The mk2 was supposed to have a new oil in the gearbox to reduce friction, therefore helping reduce imissions.
Lots of places are quoting 149co2 for ALL 2.0 TDCI`s with a manual so if people are looking for a C-Max from May 07 to April 08,check the reg doc before you buy.
