Hi
I have just come back from my Ford service centre where I had a service carried out as my car which is 2years old in September. It is a Cmax 1.8 Style with a mileage of 4956 and was serviced exactly one year ago when the mileage was 1579 . On checking the visual health check sheet attached to the invoice it stated next to the Master cyl/servo/brake fluid box where it was ticked as visually okay but the mechanic has written that ( fluid change due Sept.09 2 years) should that not have been done at this service and should it havebeen inclued in the 2nd year service price which cost £176?
I also asked them to check my alloy wheels which are showing signs of pitting butthey say they are outwith the 1year warranty and contated Ford who agree but suggest I phone Ford.
Any thoughts on the above would be appreciated.
Thanks
Graham

On such a low mileage most of the service items would hardly have been used. Isn't the expected mileage after 2 years somewhere around the 25,000 mark?

Hi Graham

the brake fluid change is an addiational service on top of the normal service. it costs about £35 on top of the service. sometimes they may lower the cost if carried out at the same time as the annual service. ask at your local ford garage and they will explain what isoptional at each service.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the information. I did know that a 2 year service is 25000 miles and I don't do a lot of miles but I still need to have my services up to date to preserve the warranty for what it is worth. But asthere ischarge afor the brake fluid change I will get it done at the 3 year service and possibly use a independent garage.
