I dont just mean the bulb, i mean the entire thing. My wife noticed that the lens is cracked. No idea how that happened or when. I assume it just un-screws from the back. Can someone just confirm this.

Had a look on TIS, just shows poor pictures.
It appears that you pull the outer trim off ( doesn`t show where to pull from! )
Remove 1 retaining screw ( looks as though its on the inner side nearest Radiator grille )
Slide a trim tool/Screwdriver in the opposite side to retaining screw to relieve a clip.
I know this isnt a great help, but should aid in some way?!?

I too had a look
I'd suggest ther are a couple of retaining lugs to the outside edge of the trim surround that need pushing inwards to release that then allow the trim to be pulled forwards from that edge and that there are then retaining screw(s) either side of the lamp and it comes out forwards
Haven't got such niceties on our LX so can't say for certain
