Wanted: Focus c-max!!

Hi all, i am searching for a focus cmax/ford c max, must be diesel and i really want it to be the 2.0 litre too. Any spec considered, ghia preferred and i want it to have less than 60000 miles ideally. Im looking to spend approx 4-5k and have a possible part ex of a nissan x-trail dci, if not then i would pay cash.
Also i live in shropshire so the closer the better.
Not many requirements im sure you'd agree....!

yes well spotted, i have seen that one and it seems decent enough, just wondered if there is anyone else who has one as i reckon if someone on this site does then it has probably been well looked after! Cheers

try to go for the 2005 models then you will avoid the dreaded DPF fitted cars.

Mine is a 2008 2.0TDCi Zetec. I was underneath it for a look yesterday when it was up on a ramp having the tracking checked at a local tyre outlet. I could see no sign of the DPF or the little additive tank which is supposed to be between the rear axle and the fuel tank. The exhaust had what looked like two silencers on it. No small pipes for pressure take off points or sensors to be seen.
Also, it appears that cars fitted with DPFs have a sensor on the inner side of the battery box, with pipes coming out of it. I imagine this will sense a build-up of differential pressure and trigger the re-generation process. The photos attached were found on the "Talk Ford" Website, and although they show a standard Focus, I can't imagine they'd put the sensor elsewhere on a Max. I may be wrong! How about it Richard?
See Non genuine DPF replacement - Mechanical (Mk2 Focus) - TalkFord.com
There is no such sensor fitted to my car and it would be an easy thing to look for. Conclusion! It would appear mine doesn't have one after all! Result!

I will be extremely surprised if you have not got a DPF fitted to your car. Funnily enough the focus 1.8 diesels were not fitted with a DPF until a certain time after the rest of the diesels.

i believe dpf is best avoided but not too much of an issue until 75000 miles as long as the car gets a decent run reasonably often....we are diversifying a little, does anyone want to sell me one!!!???

I've never fully got to the bottom of which diesel engine had DPF fitted and when except for the 1.6 which I know is down to the emission code letter being either S or V (can't remember which way round at present)

Get yourself on Autotrader sbrace. Put in your requirements and there's a whole world of cmax's waiting for you. Then when you've found one tell us all its problems so we can sympathise with you ha ha ha.
