Is it sorted now?
I can imagine that a vibration as you describe might be typical. I've had a few diesels, two Audi 1.9TDIs, a Volvo V50 2.0, and currently a Honda Civic 2.2 company car. There is only so much damping you can do to eliminate their inherent roughness, in comparison with a petrol engine.

Rolo Hi Matt888, I'm just back off holiday and catching up on the club's posts. I have checked mine (same model) and it is as the dealer says. Mine runs smoothly at idle but at 1100 rpm the car shakes, slightly; it is not an rpm that is normally used, except passing up or down so I haven't noticed it before. Hope this helps, but I would still not trust a dealer who says it is worn tyres!

Matt888 Update got a call from the dealer this afternoon to tell me my cars ready, guess what it's a characteristic of the car. Arrghhh I feel like I want to kill someone. She told me that they had checked another one and it is the same as mine a 10 plate they have for sale on the forecourt.
So I said great then when I pick it up tomorrow they won't mind showing me to put my mind at ease, she told that will be no problem, so tomorrow I will find out for once and for all if they all do it as they say they do.

Matt888 I've taken the C Max back to the dealer, but this time a technician came out to try the fault whilst I was with him, and he thinks that the dual mass flywheel is breaking up.
Will let you know when I get the car back what has been done.

Chris Hi Matt started car up and held revs at 1100 rpm. As I thought there is no vibration at all. I too would suspect an engine mounting is the cause..........

Olliesgrandad I use PJ Nicholls at Tewkesbury for my servicing and repairs- a family owned ford dealership - they seem pretty straight and honest - Not that far up the M5 from bristol for a secondopinion.

MetalMicky08 Hi Matt, never trust dealers where tyres are concerned,They told me I needed new ones all round & in reality, they lasted 2 more MOT`s.
Sorry can`t advise about the engine prob, though do go to a different garage & get a proper. verdict.
Please let us know how you get on.
MM

Matt888 I don't have bald tyres not even close they're on 4mm, the dealer wanted to replace them for no reason at all, I took it to a tyre centre and asked them to check them and they said they were trying to rip me off.
