Gazza-CH They are not to my knowledge LEDs, but in the spec. they are marked as (in French & German)

Feux de circulation diurnes/Tagfahrlicht which translates as daylight running lights. They are standard on all three versions Amibiente, Carving, and Titanium.

Mine is still at the dealers for a few more weeks, so even though I've seen it I can't drive it yet!

gregtheegg No not an option, and I think it looks great in frozen white with the dark tinted rear windows and tailgate.

Hi; I'm new here. Haven't ordered yet, but will be doing so shortly. C-Max in white with all the bells and whistles.
Gazza- 2 questions;
1. can you tell me how I go about getting daytime running lights "added", as I've spoken to newmerous salesmen and none seem to even acknowledge that they are an option!

2. Are they LED's? If not,can I get them as an option?

Cheers; Ash.

I think you will be happy with your new choice. Cheaper car tax and Insuranceand the MPG on mine at the moment is 48 to gallon and the engine is still tight only 927 miles.

Gazza-CH Thank goodness I ordered mine in December, and it is at the dealers already. Mine comes with day-lights as standard,here in Switzerland and we are not even part of the EU!

Dazza95 Thanks to all who have replied to me. This one is for Trenny. Don't want to worry you to much but when I went to sort out my new C-Max I wasn't too sure wether to have the 2.0 or the 1.6 (which now has more power than the one I have now) I was shocked when he told me that the earliest I could get a 2.0 delivered would be in September( this was on the 17th March 2011 )and to make it worse he said that the way it was going it could be longer than that. He said there is some sort of issue with 2.0 engines globally. As in my previous email I have now ordered a 1.6 which has been given a date of June for delivery.You may want to have a word with your dealer to confirm this but I feel it must be right as my dealer would have made more by selling me the 2.0 but he said he preffered to be up front with me.

fanbelge Johan! You are correct - I just checked with another sales person at my dealership. He explained exactly what you did. So, a bit less cheezy than I originally thought. It didn't make sense to me at the time, andannoyingthat the others at the dealership could not explain this to me, and that Ford Belgium gave me completely incorrect information (saying that my car would have DRL asa result of the new legislation).
This other sales person offered the option at no cost for me - only 25 euros - still a nice gesture.

Again, Johan, many thanks for pointing this out. I think I'm one of the very few who thinks that DRL is important!

JohanVG Don't want to nitpick, but there's a little more to it.As ofFeb7, 2011, all new models must have DRL. That doesn't mean all new cars must have DRL. It means that when a new model is presented by themanufacturerfor EU homologation after Feb 7, 2011, the car must have DRL. The new C-max is on sale since Oct 2010, the homologation was way before that, so DRL isn't obligated.But I too feel like Ford is taking advantage of the situation by charging for an item that is going to be standard soon anyway, and will make a new car look dated almost instant, simply by not making one item standard. Being so close to the obligation date when releasing the C-max, it would have suited Ford to make the gesture to it's customers by fitting DRL on every C-max. Instead it, again, profiles itself asgreedy. If I was in the market for a new c-max, I would demand DRL as standard, or shop somewhere else.

fanbelge All cars manufactured after February 1st due for the European market must have daytime running lights. It's a bit cheezy that Ford still lists it as an option and is willing to take money from people for something by law Ford is obliged to do. I asked the Belgian dealership back in January when I signed for a new Grand C-max and they all played stupid. I had to call Ford Belgium and they confirmed that the car would come with daytime running lights since it would be manufactured in March.

gregtheegg Hi I have just taken delivery of my Grand C Max fitted with every extra available, It is the Titanium 1.6 Diesal. I am very pleased with the Sony System DAB radio. I think the 2000k for the leather, heated seats panoramic roof with electric blind is very good value for money. I like the red glo of the ambient lighting that is inside on the roof, door handles, door bins, and other areas.

Bit surprised that there are no daylite running light why did Ford skimp on that? The automatic lights that operate when you go around corners are a bonus on the rural lanes of Kent.
