|Andymac||Any tom-tom with Mapshare wins for me. Since turning on map share my 2 years out of date maps are spot on even for new roads and junction changes. Not high tech but effective. I've got a first gen XL. Rubbish battery life now, only does about 20mins from a full charge. Battery clearly shot!|

I don't know if this is any good to anyone else but I made this New C-Max Panther Black Cursor for my TomTom. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />
Your welcome to use it if you want, but not for any financial gain or selling it on.

I've got a good one now, surprisingly it's a mobile phone, a Nokia 5230 with OVI Maps free for life.
They'venow added a new function where you can inform them of changes like a 2-way street being changed to a one way street.

I know this thread is a bit old but I would like to add my thought:
<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />
I have a TomTom Go300, I bought it when it first came out, and it's never let me down. My problem with the new TomTom Sat Nav is, there is no expansion slot so you are tied to the max limit of which ever model you have. If was going for another TomTom Sat Nav it would be the Tomtom Go730. Also a lot of the new Tomtom sat Nav runtime is not good, the TomTom Go730 spec is 5hrs.
Some of the spec on the Go730

I'm using the new Star Trek CP3O (or R2D2) voice in a ONEXL. I probably ought to get a map update sometime

|oldboy||Tom Tom for me and I use "Kate" the computer voice and she has never got me lost. It does help to have a general idea of you route as they do tend to work on straight lines.|

No mapping system is going to be 100% accurate, but as far as the ones I've used, it's got to be Tom Tom all the way. Even the entry level model is fantastic value and the maps have been very accurate for me. Incidentally, I have been up & down the Country as well as into Scotland with the Tom Tom.
