krakow Hi it is a plqastic tank and there is no damage to it, the filler cap is the right one thank you for your reply

krakow No it will not pull fuel through on the battery I have to tow the car when I am trying to see if it will go to empty I carry two cans of fuel

Richard G After it has stalled what do you do to get it to run again so as to be able to go to fill it up
You don't mention having to do anything so I presume it restarts reasonably easily

Olliesgrandad I don't know (because i'm too lazy and old to lie underneath at this point) to see if the tank is metal, but in the olden days when this occurred it was sometimes because a vented fuel filler breather hole was blocked or the wrong type of filler cap had been fitted.
In some instances the tank crumpled and thus had less capacity.

krakow no it shows half full and there is no damage or dints in the bottom of the tank runs I mean that stalls and no fule will come out and to fill up it will only take 32 ltrs

Richard G The tank capacity is about 55 litres
I presume when you say "runs out" that the fuel gauge shows empty
You probably have a fault with either the tank sender or the fuel gauge itself in the instrument cluster
