Mk1 Golf GTi 1.6 - Rear end write off at red light
Mk1 Golf GTi 1.8 - Rear end write off, at same lights as other!
Mk1 Golf "L" 1.1 - got t-boned a juntion
Seat Malaga - £50 + £20 for a choke kit, I'd lost interest in having a nice car at this point.
Astra Belmont 1.8 LXi - Proper Q-Car, and kept it for a LOOONG time.
At the same time, though not all at the same time! :
- 2x Astra GTE 2.0 8v
- 1x Astra GTE 2.9 16v
- 1x Astra SRI 1.8
- 1x Astra SXi 1.8
- Merc 230E
- Honda Prelude 2.2
Renault 19 1.8D (non-turbo) - Workhorse, and cheap while I was at uni!
Deawoo Esperro - Awful copy of an old Vauxhall Cav, but again, at uni, was cheap!
Honda Civic VTi - Wanted something a bit sporty.
Vectra 1.8 LS. - 6 years good service, and it's just died.
There are a few others like a couple of Metros, a few vans etc, but these are the ones I kept for more than a couple of weeks!

Right here's my list i passed my test 4th january 1990 at 16.20
1978 Chrysler Avenger 1.3 LS XHA 890S, me n my dad owned this for 10 yrs between us great car

1993 Rover 216 GSI K564 HNH, one of my fav's lovely car this

1995 Daewoo Nexia 1.5 GLXi N*** OJU, change of circumstance's forced banger buy, was an ok car this
1999 Daewoo Leganza 2.0 CDX T929 JVF, 2nd best car i have owned so far , smooth comfy n suprisingly fast
then a house moved forced upon me a short period of banger ownership again, i had two cars in this time one really bad, one quite good
the bad one first
1998 Renault Megane 1.4RN (i have erased reg no from my memory) , total pile of crap
then the good one also the cheapest car i have ever owned £250 i paid
1994 Ford Escort 1.8TD L M697 GAE,was good fun and suprised me with how well it drove, considering it had at least 169500 on it
Then comes My favourite so far
2003 Ford Focus 1.6 LX Auto HJ03 RNN, absolutley brilliant was this one, never broke down in 5 years of ownership
so i brought the current motor
2007 Ford Focus C-Max 2.0 Zetec Auto **07 *** , so far since 9th febuary ,love it no problems at all

Me and the wife as follows:1965 Ford Anglia Deluxe with a 1500 Engine, went like stink1964 Ford Anglia 1200 Super1970 Triumph Herald 13/601972 Vauxhall Viva 18001975 Hillman Avenger 1600 GL1978 Triumph Spitfire 15001980 Ford Escort 1600 Harrier1984 Ford Escort XR3i (put me off Ford for 15 years)1978 Mini 1000 (wifes)1986 Volkswagen Golf GTi1986 Mini City E (wifes)1989 Volkswagen Golf GTi1989 Nissan Bluebird 1800GSX (wifes)1996Volkswagen Golf GLTDi 90 (wifes)1996 VolkswagenPolo L Diesel1999 Ford Puma2002 Ford Mondeo ZetecTDCi 130 (wifes)2005Mini Cooper S2005 Nissan Micra 1200 S (wifes)2005 Ford C-Max Zetec 1.6 TDCi 110 (wifes - Still owned)2008 BMW 118D (Still owned)Best car was probably the 2nd Golf GTi, did 113,000 miles and only spent about £500 on repairs, did all the servicing myself. Most Disapointing was the Mini Cooper S, expected a great car but actually preferred drivingthe wifes Micra which although painfully slow on A roads was a great car for the money.Current C-Max has been great, now 6 years old nearly and other than servicing and tyres has only needed an alternator belt which was showing signs of cracking. Part choppedboth the Mini and Micra when we bought it and never regretted it.When I started driving petrol was about 35 pence a gallon and beer was about 35 pence a pint.A long time ago now.

A fairly short list,
1994 Ford Escort 1.8 TD Sapphire
2000 Ford Focus 1.8 16v LX Petrol
Current 2008 Ford Cmax 1.6 16v Zetec
should have stuck with the escort as it was an unstoppable tank. Never let me down and ran on fresh air. Then again, Diesel was only 94p/L.
Long gone are those days
