Hi Welcome to the forum!
I agree with the Cmax in the snow - might be because mine runs 18" wheels with 225 wide tyres!Saying that, the (nearly new) Uniroyal RainSport 2's are a big improvement over the Conti Sport Contacts I had last winter.
I've now got a set of 16" Michelin Alpin A4 winter tyre's to fit which will improve things immensely. Luckily I ordered them before the snow came - they have now almost double in price to 970!!!

N[ice] picture, Jon. Poor bl**dy fish.
Lots of snow and ice here for some, but I have seen very little where I am. Just not worth most getting kitted out with snow tires, hence the chaos when we get a cold snap.

Well this year it seams like the first snow in late october is to stay.
So from late october to late april we have snow and icy roads.

If we dont use snow/ice tires and end up in an accident we dont get a nicle from insurance.

They aren't just 'Snow' tyres, they're designed for anything below 7 deg C (when summer tyres stiffen and loose grip). Stopping distances are far shorter than summer tyres in these circumstances.
JonV, are you using a studded tyre?
