Question Question about tools that come as standard

Bought a 2011 second hand cmax 1.6 zetec at the weekend, am picking it up next weekend. Really looking forward to it

I have one query though. We found the storage area under the carpets in the second row, and there was a moulded bit of plastic that looked like it would hold tools.

We checked the boot storage area and saw the jack and metal bit that has a loop at one end and thread at the other (for turning the jack i'm guessing). This loop/thread metal part looks like it might fit in the moulded plastic under the floor.

The query is, what goes in this moulded plastic under the floor? Is it a second place for this tool in the boot? Or is it something else that I'm missing from the car?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

the jack handle is integral with the jack itself
I suspect the loop bit is what screws the jack down to the boot floor

The bit of metal with a loop at one and and a thread at the other is probably the towing eye that can be screwed into the front or rear of the car . The empty space in the plastic moulding under the floor is empty on my car as well. I think it is there to hold something to do with a child seat. I don't think you are missing anything. Hope that helps.

Fantastic, thanks for your help guys. Yes i think you're right, that tool would be for towing and as yours is empty also it gives me confidence i have all i should.

Hopefully when i've had the vehicle for a while I'll be able to repay the favour and answer others queries.

Cheers to you!
