Question about engine cover

Hi all im a newbie after some info on a 1.6 TDCI, 07plate zetec which ive only owned for a week or so, i was stood looking under the bonnet and it seemed like there was something missing to me, so can anyone tell me if the above model is ment to have a top engine plate/cover, there is some lugs there but not sure if thats what their used for. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Neil

Ours is the same - no engine cover. Having searched other threads it looks like some did or didn't come like this from the factory. Seems odd?
Does anyone know the right part number for the cover to fit a 1.6 TDCi, or if other model covers fit so I can maybe pick one up at auction?

I have taken mine off on Sunday to have a look at the engine. There are 3 lugs to press the engine cover down onto. Trouble is ,its a pain getting cover in position and pressing down into position. So much so that the rubber holders on the cover itself are bent and snapped in some cases.
