evening everybody

Guess im drawn to this gathering of owners by the same as most - a problem

anybody got any ideas please

I have a 6000 cd player/radio - that when playing a cd its fine Until it gets to the 5th track, then it makes a horrible clicking noise that gets worse if left into the 6th or 7th track, it doesnt damge the cd and always can be started again at 1-4 with no problem

I know the obvious answer - play only 4 track CDs

I did read one post between mark 1964 and andymac - that said take it out and replace with a sony under 100 6 changer but didnt say which one or if it could connect a ipod/aux

any suggestions would be gratefully recieved

morning metal mickey

tried lots of CDs all fine in a variety of other players - none scratched

sound is more mechanichal than electric-

if your of the same age group youll know what im talking about - but when the LP finished playing but kept going round with the needle/stylus still in position, or when the record was scratched

That brings back memories I found that if my record player did that winding it up a bit more cured it.

Have you tried using a cd player cleaning disc? I've had this work for me. Can you jump tracks, maybe to track 10. Just wondering if it specifically at a certain point.
I am also assuming that these are commercial discs and not self-made, as if you've burned them yourself it could be a case of bad media, ie the discs have a small fault which a home unit my be more tolerant of than an in car player would be. It is not an uncommon situation.

I have found a couple of cd`s that always stick on the same track, have done/still does in any car but NOT on system in house.Tried cleaner but no good.Me thinks she who must be obeyed has been messing as it only happens on decent rock cd`s (ie The Doors & Camel)MM

such a good response thanks for the nice welome

right here goes

does it with all CDs
tried a cleaner doesnt work
all CDs are bought audio pre recorded products
jumping from track 3 to 10 or any variant doesnt help

its a pain in the neck
