Evening all,

I'm hoping to become at the weekend a Focus C Max owner like yourselves.
However i don't really know much about the car.
I had an 04 Scenic, it lasted 2 weeks & the engine mashed itself, through no fault of my own!
Luckily i got my money back as it was under warranty.
However as i'm going for a private sale i'm looking for info on what i should be looking out for?
If there's any weak points etc to check, certain questions to ask.
I was hoping someone might be able to point me out on what the "Zetec" model is?
(It's a 1.8 Petrol) if that makes any difference?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Lawrence

Hi there, zetec is just a trim level. Generally gets tinted rear glass, electric front windows, ac, central locking and a single slot cd player. 1.8 litre petrol is chain driven so can go 100k between cam chain replacements. There are lots about so don't rush it. Cmax is more solid than scenic, and about as clever on seats and stowage. Not as good as Zafira though, but usefully smaller. Expect high 20s to the gallon in town on short trips and high 30s on long motorway journeys in real world driving. Servicing is cheap under fords 99 value servicing scheme. Drives well as standard as it's based on Focus struts and springs, steering is precise and comes with variable assistance. Gearboxes last well. Niggly faults on trim squeaks, especially dashboard top stowage bin. Bright red and dark red look really good. 17" allots best compromise between looks and handling. 18s crashy over broken surfaces.

2005 Focus C-Max 1.8 Petrol Ghia + Sony 6 disc, 2007 tail lights, Led bulbs all over and HID front fogs.

Lawrence,

As a c max owner to be (agreed to buy, just sorting out selling current
car) I do a lot of research on parkers. They have reviews and
list the actual specifications for each car trim level, as well as detail on
the expected mpg and co2 levels.

hth.

Regards

Andy
