Not a CMAX owner yet, but seriously looking to buy a '57 Mk 2 to replace an '05 Astra softop.Had a 1st sit in one 2 days ago on a whim and me and my better half were impressed. She's the one who wants a change of car due to finding the huge doors on the Astra a pain, literally.I'm all for a 'do everything' car and we don't need 7 seats and she's found all my suggestions so far toovan like in the looks dept.Ideally I'd like a 1.6 diesel 'Style', but the buying price difference compared to a petrol one would take years to becleared by cheaper running costs. (we do less than 6,000/yr).
I had a browse through the forum yesterday and it looks very good with lots of good info

)Hi Clutha, welcome to the site. The 1.6 TDCI is a cracking motor, though we have a 2.0TDCI () & love it.We too do less than 6000 yr but do go on long runs say up to Sheffield ,down to Devon,Harpenden & others. The added mpg we get (can be over 60+) and round town mpg (42+) more than makes up for the price difference over a petrol. Also the car tax & insurance are less.I`d be against a 1.8 petrol as they are not known for their mpg.Whichever model you get I`m sure you`ll be chuffed with it ,we are with ours.MM

Well the search in Scotland for a 1.6 TDCi Style was fruitless, so, we gave up.Seat Altea XL 1.9 Diesel Stylance has been purchased. Thanks for the help/advice.
Safe/cheap motoring to you all!
