Hi & welcome to the club.
You probably need the a/c regased, should cost between 25 & 40.If you have the system serviced at the same time it should be 75 ish.
Here`s the name of a franchise company I used last year, they offer good servive & prices.

Regassing is done because therefrigerantleaks and it becomes less effective. When it smells it is due to bacteria building up in the vents so regassing won't help I'm afraid.
Normally you have sprays that you spray into the car and then set it to recirculate to disperse it through the system. Never used any though so can't make any recommendations I'mafraid.

I have just had the system re-gased so will probably be the build up of bacteria that is
causing the smell. I can't really go back and argue as I didn't pay for that in the
fisrt place. Took the car to fords and asked them to run a health check as carrying
round my little boy. Left the car with them for a few hours expecting a call and heard
nothing so went back and they had changed some pipes and recharged the gas on the
air-con. I said you Never called me to say what needed to be done so iam not going to
pay. The look on there face was amazing, they agreed and put it down to staff error.
So probably made a saving of around 180 in total.

Change the air cabin filter. This frequently gets overlooked during service. There are several guides available.

i used the spray , a year or so ago and it worked a treat . Killed the real bad smell and actually gave the car a nice newish smell inside.
