Just bought my first C Max from a Ford Dealer on Monday. It's a Seagrey1.8 Tdci Zetec on a 06 plate with only 10,000 on the clock. I was a little dubious of the mileage at firstbut having carried out all the checks i.e. HPI, Experian etc which come back with no adverse history and having the chap from my local garage giving it a thorough check, his comments of "I really can't fault it" put me at ease. My family have used this garage for 20 odd years and he's as honest as the day is long!!

Already up to 44mpg this week, which i'm pleased with. Very comfortable ride and all going well at the moment. Having a Witter towbar fitted tomorrow so can't wat to see how well it tows.

Only slight problem i've found since i've had it is that when I turn the blowers on the aircon comes on automatically (not sure whether its supposed to do that) and the aircon isn't blowing coldeitherso booked it back in with the garageMonday to fix.

I've had a look through the site and already found loads of useful stuff.

Look forward to reading and posting more soon.

Hi and welcome.

When you put the blowers on, is the dial turned to just the windscreen mark? If so then it's normal for the air con to come on automatically.

Hi and welcome.

There should be air con button just to the right of the fan dial. Switch the fan on and then press the air con button and the light on the air con button will go out. Next time you switch the fan on, then the air con will be off until you want it.

The air conn comes on with the fan when the output is directed up to the screen (inbuilt trait). In any other position it doesn't (or shouldn't)
