Had a 2005 55 plate 1.6 TDCi 110 Zetec for 5 years, other than servicing and tyres the only part we replaced was the alternator belt which was cracking, £55 fitted. Best car we ever had. No racing car but easily kept up with traffic even when loaded.Would average 57 mpg over a 400 mile holiday journey and about 44 mpg overall. Those figures were way better than the 2.0 Mondeo TDCi it replaced.Only one thing stopped me replacing it with another. From late 2005 the cars are Euro 4, earlier cars are Euro 3 like ours was. The Euro 3 cars don't have a dpf, Euro 4 cars do. When I questioned the dealer about servcing before buying the Euro 4 car was told there is a £100 charge every 3 years to replace the dpf additive and every 6 years the dpf needs replacing, dealer quoted £1000. When I asked the question on here I was told this info is correct, Ford has changed servicing requirements. My advice is therefore qualified by saying definitely get a good one but make sure its Euro 3.
