I have had a Corolla Verso for the last 7 years / 110,000 miles and had only one fault (injector pump valve) in all that time!It is now time for a change and I have booked a test drive, with a view to buy, a new 1.6 TDCi 110 Titanium CMAX.After browsing this forum and reading all the dissatisfaction amongst you all, am I making a big mistake? Is there anyone out there who has a problem free CMAX? Is there anyone out there who loves, or even likes their CMAX?Please let me know

Read the corolla owners forum you'd wish you'd never brought one of those either. If everyone logged on here to say my car is fine today it would make for a boring forum wouldn't it.

mines ok by the way

Welocome. You are buying a new vehicle so don't worry.
My dealer says there are very few problems with the latest generation CMAX.
I have had the 1.6 TDCI engine inthe last 3 cars - all of them post 2007 and have not had any issues.
With the 1.6 remember that the turbo cuts in swiftly and the only way to get away cleanly is to be doing 1500rpm. The salesman at the dealer I now use says that he always stalls his unless he ensures he is doing 1500 rpm.
Have you thought about finding a Ford direct car - huge saving and they are often very well equipped. Also believe it or not the warranty is better. 2 years including recovery (only one year on a new car).
I paid 12,000 for my 23000 mile Dec 07 car which would have listed at 25000 with all the extras.
As I do 25000 miles a year my company mileage pays to chsange every 12 months or so.
The car is on my wifes private plate so to all intents and purposes looks new.

Hi, welcome to the club!
As with most things, people make it known when they are dissatisfied, rarely do people make it known when they are happy!
Ford build the 1.6 ( tiger engine ), quality was deemed far higher built at dagenham than somewhere in southern France.
The rest of the car is put together in Belgium to a high quality.
Obviously not every car will be 100% right, the later cars being alot better.

41,825 miles, 4 years old, full ford service history, engine has never missed a beat!. what can't speak, can't lie. the only outlay has been 3 replaced tyres in 4 years, apart from servicing/mot's.

I think it's a great driving position, has loads of room, is very well equipped and feels really solid.
The list could go on, but if you're buying a new car then as mentioned above, you'll have 3 years of warranty.
I've had 3 Fords now and I am VERY satisfied with them overall. As with any car, there's always some who have even the smallest issues, then write the company off as useless. Also, regardless of make, there are dissatisfied owners everywhere. Considering the amount of vehicles Ford shift, there's going to be a very small minority that have issues. It's the way in which they resolve them that counts. The Titanium car sounds really nice, you make your own mind up.
