Hello and help on buying a C-Max

Hello all looking at buying a C-Max after owning a Corsa C Auto for a year, now after having a baby me and my partner are looking for something bigger and we both love the c max it must be an auto and diesel we have seen the 1.6 diesel with Cvt auto but after reading about cvt I want to keep well clear of these so my qu stion is did they do a 1.6 diesel auto without a cvt box I want a second hand one and looking to spend upto 5 grand.

Thanks

For a full and frank review of the C-Max check this out. Ford Focus C-MAX (03-10) Car Review - Summary | Parkers
It will let you know which diesel models were available with auto boxes and which were not.
Another car you might want to check out is the C4 Picasso, many of which were auto, and the early 2.0 Diesels were auto ONLY. They should be coming into your price range now and will have the same engines as Ford actually use PSA units in the C-Max. The only engine you will not get is the 1.8 Diesel which is a Ford Unit.

I have read all the reviews and just want to know did the C max 1.6 tdci auto come just with the cvt box or any other forms of automatic transmission or did the troublesome box only occur with certain years?.

Thanks

I would have gone for the c4 Picasso if I had not been lucky enough getting this baby.

The CVT box was upto about 2006 / 07 so check build dates as opposed to registration dates. Don't think it went into the MkII at any point but not certain of any autobox for the 1.6 Diesel there either
