Hello everyone!Just bought my first Ford - a 2005 2.0 Tdci Zetec. My last car was a Y reg Peugeot 306 Estate (2.0 HDI) which was still driving fine with 172k miles!Only problems with the C-Max are that the Air-Con doesn't seem to work (although it's been regassed and the compressor seems to kick in - so it's back to the dealer) and the armrest is either all the way up or all the way down (apparently an easy fix).I'm happy so far, the car drives much better than I thought it would - although the fuel economy seems to be worse than my pug not sure if that's my driving style or the sticking EGR valve I've been reading about...

Welcome to the club. The 2.0 is the same engine as you had in the pug, just an updated version.

The aircon will probably be the condenser, I've read its a common problem and I've had to change mine this week because of a tiny hole in the passenger side of it, diagnosed with some uv dye.

The economy might not be as good as the pug as its a heavier car. I'm averaging 45mpg working it out brim to brim and that's mostly on the school run, but can happily get 65mpg on long runs. What are you getting?

I've only gone through half a tank of fuel so far - but the trip computer shows around 35mpg, although it's been 45 on the motorway with AC on... Turning AC off sees it creep up, but I've done no long motorway trips to see how high it will get.The garage I took it to for a regas said it was probably the condenser - how big a job is it to swap out?

Easy, did mine in under 2hrs and I certainly wasn't rushing. You need to remove the intercooler which is really simple, the condenser then lifts up and comes out the bottom. That's the basics of it anyway.

Don't rely too much on the trip computer as a few people have said about its inaccuracy, mine certainly under reads. Just work it out yourself from brim to brim fill ups.
