Hi there, just thought I would drop in and say hi. have gained loads od helpfull stuff from this site and thought it was time i joined. hope to speak to many of you soon. no doubt i will be shouting for help at some period!! I have had a cmax 2.o tdci 04 zetec for 5 years and had a few probs mainly egr muck. love the car hate the egr[img]smileys/smiley19.gif[/img]

Hi, Welcome to the club!
One sure way to prevent EGR clogging up is to give the car a " spirited drive " once every so often, utilising most of the RPM range and Boost from the Turbo, this'll help clear the EGR of horrible gummy deposits.

To be fair however the EGR valve moves most when you drive with continually varying conditions so that it opens and closes. It's short journeys where it only just about gets warm that it doesn't like
