Hi All,

I just bought the 04 1.8 Zetec Petrol, ex motorbility. 20K. I loved it as soon as I got in, as others have posted I'm a bit worried about some of the horror stories. I'll wait and see though. Any tips/regular C Max specific maintainance to keep her running smooth?

Good site BTW,

Cheers

I have a 1.6 petrol, 54 plate. It has so far been 100% reliable. Methinks almost all of the 'horror stories' on the site derive from diesel engines. Patriot is right, by the standards of 2009, MPG is disappointing with petrols, but 10 miles less per gallon seems not to be too bad a price to pay for an absence of garage bills.

Well I have had endless problems with mine over the past two and a half years of ownership.

I
have covered 7000 miles in 2 and a half years and that is not because I
dont want to drive the car or that I dont do the mileage as I do.

It is because the car is always broke.

I decided to buy another car and not use the c max alot as it never stops breaking.

I used it on tuesday for the first time in a week and drove off and a pully broke in the engine.

I now have another thing to add to the endless list of things that have gone wrong with this car.

I will say it is a great car when it is working and it ticks all the wright boxes.

The only thing it fails on is the most important thing RELIABILITY

sorry let me rephrase that it is not a pully ford think it is my gear box.

So I have 37000 miles on the clock and my gear box has gone.
