Focus c-max zetec 1.6 TDCI E4 HELP!

hi, i bought the above car (55 plate) at xmas and for a few weeks ive been thinking it must have a smokey exhaust due to the cold. but yesterday it started slightly juddering and throwing out black smoke when accelerating. anyway... ive read quite a few posts on this forum about it but they're years old and i wondered if anyone had found a solution? i thought the split part of the flexi exhaust seemed quite interesting?
please help ) is this problem on a recall?
thanks

the two important points for you
1) the split part of the flexible exhaust is not relevent
2) nothing on a 55 plate vehicle will still be on "a recall" as regarding a fix

quick update!!
had car mended but was stuff blowing out black smoke although not a vast amount like before.. i didnt drive as i had a long journey to make yesterday and with the petrol situation i wanted to keep my full tank (manchester to london and back) by the time i got to london i felt ill had to have the windows down as the car smelt like an exhaust! the engine was smoking and there was a loud tapping noise. thank god for the rac.. turned out the injectors was loose! (was ok before going into the garage!) the the oil cooler pipe was hanging off the the rocker cover was puffing out.. turns out i was lucky but dont envy the garage people tomoz

Hopefully the RAC gave you a detailed acount of what the problem was so that you can feed it back to the garage.
Do also perhaps get in touch with Trading Standards before speaking to the garage so that they can perhaps advise what you should say

yes the rac bloke was lovely he wrote it all down. he was disgusted said we had been very lucky as 99% of our journey had been on the motorway :/
he seemed alittle annoyed at the rocker cover, he said they should have put a little sealant on it but im not sure if this is standard??
i have to say though i have no black smoke and its working great now lol
i'll keep you updated
