Been a member on here for a while doing some research. Just put a deposit down on a 54 plate 2.0TDci Zetec in pepper red with 61k on the clock. Pick it up in a couple of days if its ok. It's 300 miles away, so haven't seen it yet.
Good buy or not? Any problems i should expect?
I'm hoping to fit an iPod connector and change the radio for aSony one sometime.

Your`s is the same age as mine & the mileage is nearly identical to mine when I got it.
Can you find out if it has had a new alt,if it`s not had one stands a chance you will sometime soon.Mine went at about 65,000.Does ot have service history?
When you get it check the a/c is blowing cold & the engine fan is switching on/off when it`s on.
Best way to check out alt is to put on all lights ,a/c,radio heated screens,in other words put as much load through it as you can (engine running of course). If the battery light flickers or stays on the the alt will need replacing(ask for a 300 disscount to cover cost of replacement).
Hope this info is of use to you.
MM
Where are you getting it from? If you are going 300 miles that would put you going between 150 & 100 miles north of me.

Thanks for the advice. I've got 300miles from Manchester to Cornwall to find any faults!
Car has a FSH and there's a 3 month warranty.
Fingers crossed!

Mine had full history too,but had been given basic service for last two services.
I have now found a brilliant local independent garage that do a full service every time.

I picked the car up yesterday and drove back to Cornwall. Really pleased with the performance. Averaged 42mpg driving at (ahem) the speed limit!
One thing i did notice is the speedo seems toshow the speed at5-6mph faster than my sat nav shows. My sat nav dosen't usually show that much difference in speed. Is this a c-max trait or something i need to get checked out?

Same here. Speedo shows 75MPH, Sat Nav 70MPH. Unless a change in tyre size from new then all manufactures err on the high side.
