Hi All!
Picking up my CMax on 1st Feb - changing from 53 plate Mondeo.
Gone for a 16 month old 1.8ff Titanium in Panther Black with SatNav, Sport Pack 3, F+R Parking Sensors.
Looks great - we'll see how 18" wheels cope with the freshly potholed roads in North Yorkshire!

The FF option is no longer listed in the brochure I picked up on Sunday. According to the dealer there was a very poor response to the option because it is the same price fuel but you get fewer mpg and fewer places sell it. I didn't buy it because it was an FF engine but who knows, in the future the government may realise the 30-40% emission reduction could be worth a little less tax - but I very much doubt it.

my road tax with 1.8 ffv engine is 20 cheaper than the 1.8 straight petrol engine-every little helps.

I'll check when I pick the car up, the dealers is taxing it as part of the deal. I looked at the DirectGov website and it wasn't particularly clear which band it was in or if it was classed as alternative fuel.

It's the CO2 figure that counts not how it's arrived at that determines the VED

1.8 ffv and 1.8 petrol same co2 but ffv gets cheaper rate as its classed as bio gas/alternative fuel. had to sort mine out because itwas reg as just petrol when new-took a few months for ford to sort it out with car tax people.
