The car I've been looking at is for sale at a Ford main dealership. Nine months old with 4000 miles (if I heard correctly!). It has a tow bar fitted - good, as I need one for towing my caravan, but on the other hand it makes me a bit suspicious as to why it has been sold on so early in its life. The price is lower than I expected from this dealer - most of the cars are on sale above main dealer prices. It's £12499 and, after a bit of pressure from me, £3300 for my 2003 Focus Ghia 1.8 petrol with 48,000 miles.
It's a 2.0 litre tdci (I presume 130 bhp) Zetec. Going off the subject - I don't understand why Ford have dropped the Ghia - the Zetec and Titanium versions are
'sporty' by my standards! So I'm a bit concerned as to whether the Zetec's ride will prove to be a bit firm after a while.
If I ask the dealer for a print out of the history of the car - ie any warranty work, etc - is he obliged to provide it?
I hope to be able to test drive it within the next couple of days, so we'll see.
Will be glad to hear any more advice.
