Hello All,

I have a 2006 1.8 TDCi C-Max that I recently had some accident damage repaired by a large national company via my insurer.

When I got it back the headlights were pulsing and engine management system was going nuts, I was losing the power steering and idicators whilst driving along and generally being a pig........

After a long arguement between my insurer the accident repairer and the local ford dealer they concluded that the alternator was at fault and the insurer gave me 50% towards the cost of replacement. I got this replaced (along with the alternator drive belt) by a trusted local mechanic but it never resolved the problem (we did ensure that the correct alternator was used by matching up the part numbers).

When i test the battery it sits happily at just over 12v but as soon as you turn the engine on it starts going up and down like a yo-yo as high as 15-16v!! (hence the pulsing headlights).

I'm thinking it may be the power control module (PCM) but not sure................. Any idea's please?

Many Thanks
