Hi Everybody,

Greetings from Finland! I'm just about to place an order for a 1.6 TDCi Grand C-Max Titanium, so I thought I'd better join the C-Max owners' club

Diesels haven't arrived in Finland yet, and I've only test driven a 1.6 petrol 125ps C-Max. I've spent a long time deliberating whether to get a 1.6TDCi or a 2.0TDCi. It's been a tough decision as I haven't driven either, but I've settled on the 1.6 as people seem to say the the 2 litre doesn't feel much better - Any comment welcome as I haven't ordered yet.

Hi Mark
I test drove the 1.6 Diesel Grand C-Max, as it was the only one the dealer had available (I've ordered the 1.6 Petrol Ecoboost). I felt the 1.6 Diesel was a little sluggish when pulling away at roundabouts etc - I have no experience of the 2.0 Diesel C-Max, but I drive a 2.0 TDCi Kuga, and that's certainly a lot more responsive.
If you could stretch to the 2.0, I would but at the very least, ring around to see if you can try both out...

I have ordered the 2.0l TDCI Grand C-Max, though I had no oppotunity to drive it. tje tests over here (Switzerland) reckoned the 1.6 TDCI was a little underpowered for overtaking when fully loaded. Maybe with all these mountains around that makes sense. There is no difference for me in the CO2rating between the 1.6 and 2.0 here either, so I don't even lose out there.

At least if you order the 1.6TDCi you might get one, here in the U.K. I have had a 2.0 TDCi C-Max on order since January and have been told there is big problems on the supply of the 2.0 Litre models with no light at the end of tunnel yet.

Awaiting delivery of Ford C-Max 2.0 TDCi Titanium in Panther Black with free City Pack.

Thanks for the comments! Diesels haven't arrived in Finland yet, so unfortunately I can't test driveone, and I've been told the the delivery time would be about 10 weeks. It's flat as a pancake around where I am and I mostly drive in the city, so I wondered if the 1.6 would be enough. I don't doubt that the 2 litre would be better to drive, but I wondered how much better.

Perhaps I need to visit my parents in the UK so I can have test drive
