i recently too my beloved max for its mot and as usual it passed but with an idvisory on a tyre n/s rear its near worn out near all the wear bands but over about 4inches either side of the bands then its fine all over the rest of the tyre over 5mm of tread
could it be a crap tyre ie cheap make or more a shocker gone
im confused.com

If you are saying the central band of the tyre is worn but the outer sides are less worn then that usually points to over inflation (too high tyre pressure).

no its right across the width of the tyre about 2 inches or so either side of the wear bands its like flat spots if wheel has been locked up for a while but in the area of the wear bands and full width of tyre very confused.com

what brand/model of tyre is it and are the other 3 the same?

can you feel any vibration when driving?

not a vibe but a humming like a wheel bearing not sure on make they are budgets though but the same thing happend with the last tyre that we had on the n/s/r its just the nsr tyre that this happens on maybe it is a shocker afterall

Do you have a second car in which you could follow behind yours being driven?
This will undoubtedly confirm the Shock, you'll see itrebound all over the place. My wifes car had the same flat spots you describe, that was a worn out leaking shock.
Shocks and any other Suspension components SHOULD be changed in pairs, depends if your finances can stretch to it.
