Got a 2008 c-max with 205/50/17 93 w tyres on . Having a clear out in my garage and found buried under a load of junk 4 tyres with the size 215/60/17 96 h M&S off a nissan xtrail we had my question is can i put a pair on an old pair of alloys i got for my c-max and use them in winter . The answer is proberly no but asking anyway as i have them wondered if i could use them if not any member on here no anyone with an xtrail who has that size tyres and need tyres .

The standard tyres add just over 8 inches to the diameter of the wheel. The Xtrail tyres will add just over 10. This is about an 8% difference in diameter and therefore circumference. This will cause the speedo to read low which is not really a good idea as I believe it's actually an offence.
The other problem is that of clearance. The larger tyres may foul the bodywork when the suspension deflects or when steering. The only real way to find out is to try them out but that would entail fitting costs.
You could always approach one of those places that deals in part worn tyres to see if they'll do you some kind of a deal.

The difference in Revs / mile is 827 for the 205/50's and 764 for the 215/60's

ebay seem to quite a trade in tyres ~may be best bet

Thank you for info . have been talking to part worn dealer and he is interested in my tyres and will sort out a pair my size for me .
