I recently purchased a 58 reg 1.7 diesel c-max from a ford dealer with one previous owner and 26K on the clock. I have noticed two noises that are concerning me. The first seems to come from front nearside when I go over slight bumps etc, there is a multiple (2 to 3 bumps) that occur, this does not happen when the off-side goes over a bump........ any suggestions as it is due back for a third time to the dealer. The second noise is a low tone whistle (hard to pin down location other than from the front general engine area) that starts at around 20 MPH and lasts to around 35 MPH. The noise continues if the vehicle is in gear or coasting out of gear, it also does not change if the engine speed is changed. Would welcome anysuggestions

Hello, if its any help I would look at the drop links, strut to the anti roll bar, I'm sure youryearcmax has them. They dont seem to last very long.As for the noise when you are driving I had a similar problem and mine turned out to be my tyres, they where Pirelli's changed them after much testing, even brought another space saver so I could drive (not over 50mph) without the pair of Pirelli's on.Another thought about noise when driving does the noise get louder from one side when cornering heavily? Wheel bearing?Good luck, Steve

Small point but there is no such thing as a 1.7 diesel C-Max. They come in 1.6 90 bhp, 1.6 110 bhp. 1.8 and 2.0 flavours. Makes no difference to the noises though.
