Hello,

Occasionally when my engine is off and I turn on the stereo (say I'm parked up drinking a cup of coffee or something) the volume is really, really low. And sometimes just comes out of one speaker.

At times it stays this way when I drive off too. On the whole it sorts itself out and gets back to normal once I've turned it on and off again a few times whilst driving.

Any ideas? Is it simply a nearly flat battery as the car still turns over fine so not sure it can be that...it's just really annoying.

Hmmm

It checks resistances withing the given circuits.

To Enter Self test, make sure it is on Radio and then turn off.
For low series radio press and hold preset buttons 3 + 6 within 4 Secs of turning on( For high series radios press and hold preset 4 and TA button within 4 Secs ).
Release these buttons and it should enter self test displaying what circuit is being tested, if a fault is found then a fault code is displayed and a pinpoint test need be followed.
Fault codes can also be read off the radio using Fords IDS.
