Hi everyone,
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I was thinking of possibly upgrading the site really soon to the new vBulletin 4 forum and wanted to see if you guys like that idea? I feel that it would be really good change, as well as for the performance of the site and be easier to overall to navigate and use. Thanks everyone!
Cheers,Steve

Steve
Can you advise what the benefits of the upgrade would be please?
I think the one thing that really would be nice for whichever software would be the ability to post pictures straight to the forum as to having to use Photobucket or the like

the only other slight gripe I have is with if there are more new topics than fit on one page having to use the next page tab rather than just being able to scroll down the whole list

Send a message via MSN to Big Budgie
Can you include a "Mark as SPAM" (Preferably "banish from society") button or something similar so that all these plonkers who advocate that we should all wear UGG boots or buy PING golf clubs or whatever can be banished to their own personal corner of Hades, never to be seen more! After all, tyhe site is meant to be about things automotive, not a sales pitch for people who aren't bright enough to find ebay!

I think navigation is not too bad at the moment, just slow. And as long as everything is compatible with Macs and i-devices, then I'll be happy. A welcome initiative, thanks.

Just looked at software site a bit closer
As there is a cost to the upgrade what will recovery of the cost entail regading either membership fees or increased advertising content to the forum?

Thank you for posting that link as that's the software the site is going to be upgraded too. In regards to the cost and memberships as you asked, nothing will change as it is now. Most up-to-date automotive forums now are using vbulletin4 toaccommodate the growth of a site and easy to change features whenever you guys want to change/add something to the forum.About the added advertising/banner, it will only be seen by unregistered guests and not logged in.
This upgrade will definitely increase the performance and speed of the site as well. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask

There are ever more instances of the following appearing. This did not happen that long ago and as far as I am aware I've done nothing to the set up at this end
